If you are a serious blogger, you'd have accomplished that backlinks ar vital to your blog. Backlinks are like recognition to your blog. The a lot of backlinks you've got, typically implies that your web site features a ton of readers and so seemed to be imported.

One of the way to Create backlinks is by commenting on other blogger's blog. This would mean increase in traffic and comments for that particular blog. However, bloggers blogging on Blogger.com would have their comment form set to nofollow by default, which does not bring any benefit to the commentator.

In this tutorial, I'm going to teach you how to set your blog's comment URL from nofollow to dofollow with a few simple steps.

Step 1:  Setup the comment settings

This step is important because the dofollow link will only be available to at the URL column which is only available if the comment settings is set to 'Anonymous'. It is also important to set the comments to be moderated because dofollow blogs attracts a lot of spammy comments.

  1. Sign in to your Blogger account here
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Select Posts and comments
  4. Under Who can comment?, select Anyone
  5. Under Comment moderation, select Always
  6. You may also enable word verification to filter out spammers
  7. Click on Save settings

Step 2 - Edit the HTML template code

  1. Navigate to Template
  2. Select Edit HTML and then Proceed
  3. Select Expand Widget Templates
  4. Search (Ctrl + F) for the following code and remove the code in red
    <a expr:href='data:backlink.url' rel='nofollow'><data:backlink.title/></a>
    <b:include data='backlink' name='backlinkDeleteIcon'/>

  5. Next, search (Ctrl + F) for the following code and remove the code in red
    <b:if cond='data:comment.authorUrl'>
    <a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'><data:comment.author/></a>
    <b:else/>

  6.  Select Save templates

If you would like to reverse the procedure and change your blog back to a nofollow blog, simple add back the codes in red.
Note:
While this will increase people commenting on your blog, it will also bring in a lot of spammers who are looking to comment just for the backlink.
